The role

  • Based in our Sydney office, you will work closely with our Sydney-based Australia & NZ MD and Client Director and our growing list of clients.

  • You will work with clients on their creative briefs, including advising on budgets, timeframes, approach and language, to ensure they are optimised for success.

  • Assist clients with shortlisting filmmaker treatment responses to their briefs and advise them in selection process, to help commission the best filmmaker for their brief.

  • Work with some of our key clients and their commissioned creators to enhance their creative ideas and assist throughout the production produce to help deliver outstanding creative.

  • Become a trusted creative advisor to our clients and build ongoing relationships to become an extension of their marketing teams.

  • Advising clients on Genero’s platform and production process to ensure positive experiences and successful outcomes.

  • Work with our two biggest partners, Facebook and Google, supporting their internal teams and their advertising clients, to help deliver more effective video content for their platforms.

  • Help to grow and manage our creative community of production companies, directors, editors and animators across Australia and New Zealand, and help to improve our offering to the creative community and their engagement with Genero.

  • Work as part of our global creative team, including our global Chief Creative Officer, based in San Francisco, to work on a range of strategic initiatives to continually improve the creative output of our community.

  • Provide input into our technology platform and overall solution to improve the process and tools for clients and creatives.

Successful candidate

  • You will need to have approximately 5 to 7 years experience in agencies or creative businesses in strategic planning, account management or creative.

  • A thorough knowledge of video production, and ability to advise clients and assess the credentials of filmmakers pitching on their briefs.

  • You will be creative and have an understanding of how to write a great creative brief in order to get the best out of our creative community.

  • Ability to not only assess a good idea, but enhance it through creativity and strategic thinking.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and become a valued team member of our client’s marketing teams.

  • Very well organised and have the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, with attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A deep understanding of digital and social media marketing and creative best practice for different media channels and platforms.

The role

The right person will be a commercially focussed leader, ideally with experience in global, fast growth businesses. Demonstrated experience helping technology and/or marketplaces grow would be very highly regarded. Taking ownership of finance, legal, HR and operations, you’ll play a vital role in assisting the CEOs to continue to grow and scale Genero globally.

Key responsibilities

  • Reporting to the CEO, you will be based at our head office in Melbourne and work very closely with our regional offices and MD’s in Sydney, Singapore, London and San Francisco.

  • This is a senior role but you will need to be hands-on, focused on advancing our important functions of finance, legal, operations and HR, taking them and our reporting to a more automated, timely and sophisticated level.

  • You will oversee the negotiation of important agreements across a range of key clients (including global brands/enterprises and platform partners), securing great outcomes in multiple countries.

  • You will play a key role in future capital raisings and help the company achieve successful returns for our shareholder base.

  • You will also be responsible for ensuring the company adheres to high standards of corporate governance, a key interface with the company’s board and shareholders, as well as our statutory/tax requirements in Australia and globally (working with relevant advisors where necessary).

  • You will need to be comfortable working with technology and software applications, as you and your team will work closely with our product and development team to integrate our systems and workflow for scale, as the business continues to grow globally.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 15+ years relevant experience in a CFO or COO role, and working with high-growth global businesses.

  • Tertiary qualified in Finance/Commerce including CA or CPA certified.

  • A combined Law degree will be very highly regarded.

  • A proven track record of working with enterprise clients and successfully completing challenging legal and commercial negotiations.

  • Experience managing and growing high-performance teams.

  • Experience in fundraising and an understanding of the various pathways to delivering returns for our shareholders.

  • You embrace technology and change, and are excited about Genero’s new, disruptive way of working.

  • Strategic and entrepreneurial, with an understanding of the advertising/marketing industry highly regarded.

Genero's head office is in Melbourne, Australia, with growing teams based in London, Singapore and Sydney. We are now building our US presence, and this is one of the first roles in our US team.

The role

  • Based in our New York office, you will work closely with our Global Chief Creative Officer and growing US team, to help launch and grow our US presence.

  • You will need to have approximately 3 to 5 years experience in agencies or production companies, most likely as a Producer or Account Manager working extensively in video production.

  • A thorough knowledge of the end to end creative and video production process, and ability to advise clients and assess the credentials of filmmakers pitching on their briefs.

  • Very strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal; communication and ability to build strong direct relationships with creatives and clients.

  • A solid understanding of digital and social media marketing.
