New Business Director - AU/NZ

Genero is a global video production marketplace, helping brands scale to meet demand. We combine a global community of 350,000 creators with a leading-edge software platform, and have the leading solution globally for brands looking to become more creative, agile and authentic.

Our clients are primarily large brands, including Unilever, Diageo, HP, Trivago, IAG and IHG. We are also an official Facebook Marketing Partner and work closely with Google / YouTube, to provide a solution to their advertising clients looking for a smarter, faster, more affordable way to create video content.

Genero's head office is in Melbourne, Australia, with growing teams based in Sydney, London, Singapore, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The role

  • Based in our Sydney office, you will work closely with our AU/NZ Managing Director and growing AU/NZ team, to drive business growth in the region.

  • Responsibility for helping to grow our AU/NZ client base with a focus on large brands, driving new business and building close and trusted relationships with their marketing teams.

  • This is not a ‘salesy’, 20-calls-a-day role; it is more consultative and focused on getting in front of the right decision makers in large brands and effectively positioning Genero’s solution to help them become more effective marketers.

  • Play an important role in growing and supporting the partnerships we are building with partners like Facebook and Google/YouTube, as well as identifying and establishing other partnerships.

  • Provide input into our technology platform and market leading solution, to continually improve our product offering based on your own experience and client/community feedback.

  • Tremendous scope to expand your role and further your career as part of a high growth, global business.

  • Opportunity to earn short term incentive based on achievement of revenue targets, as well as equity in a high growth business.

Successful candidate

  • You will need to have 7+ years experience in new business development and account management, ideally including experience within a creative agency environment.

  • You will have a proven track record in driving new business growth from a client base and extensive network of marketers within large corporates.

  • You have a positive can-do attitude and enjoy working autonomously. You will run your own strategy, but be held accountable for the results.

  • Passionate and excited about playing a key role in a growing business, and thrive in a small team and a dynamic, fast paced environment.

  • A deep understanding of digital and social media marketing and an appreciation for improvements that can come from new approaches and technology.

  • You will have a background and passion for creative or marketing.

  • A thorough knowledge of video production, including TV commercials. There will be times when you will need to advise clients, at least at a high level, on aspects of their creative briefs and approach to achieve the best outcomes from Genero’s creative community.

  • Attention to detail, great organisational skills and excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, be self-motivated and show initiative.

  • Marketing, advertising, communications or similar degree highly regarded but not essential.

Client Director - Latin America (São Paulo)

We have built the leading solution globally, enabling clients to produce mobile-first social video, branded content and TV commercials. We also enable the production of original content such as TV series, short films, documentaries and music videos.

Our clients are primarily large brands, including Unilever, Diageo, HP, Trivago and IHG. We are also an official Facebook Marketing Partner and work with Google, to provide a solution to their advertising clients looking for a smarter, faster, more affordable way to create video content.

The role

  • Based in Sao Paulo, you will work closely with our North America team, to help launch and grow our Latin America presence.

  • Responsibility for growing our Latin America client base with a focus on large brands, driving new business and building close and trusted relationships with their marketing teams.

  • Lead our partnership with Facebook, providing a solution to their internal teams and advertising clients, seeking an agile creative and production solution for mobile-first video.

  • Work with clients on their creative briefs and ensure successful outcomes and an extremely high level of customer satisfaction by working with other members of the Genero team as well as our global creative community.

  • Provide input into our technology platform and market leading solution, to continually improve our product offering based on your own experience and client feedback.

Successful candidate

  • You will need to have 10+ years experience in account management, creative or production roles, including experience within a creative agency environment.

  • A thorough knowledge of video production, including TV commercials, and ability to advise clients and assess the credentials of filmmakers pitching on their briefs.

  • A deep understanding of digital and social media marketing including best practices for mobile, Facebook and Instagram.

  • You will be creative and have an understanding of how to write a good creative brief, assess creative ideas and the credentials of creators.

Junior Front-end Developer
Melbourne, Australia

As a Junior Front-end Developer at Genero, you’ll be working with a modern web tech stack with React powering the UI, backed by a GraphQL API server running on Node.js. As part of our development team you’ll be working closely with our design and product team to develop innovative and world-class tools for brands looking for a more creative and agile approach to video content production.

While this is specifically a front-end role, we are a small agile team so you’ll be able to get hands-on experience and grow your skills in many aspects of software development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Converting designs and product specs into code

  • Constantly challenging your skills and improving your craft as a developer

  • Ability to work in a team or individually when required

  • Ability to communicate with strong verbal and written skills

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience with React and component-based user interfaces

  • Strong JavaScript skills, with a focus on writing clean, performant, and reusable code

  • Strong HTML and CSS skills, with the ability to deliver mobile, responsive, and accessible designs

  • Experience with the modern front-end toolset, e.g. package managers such as NPM/Yarn, transpilers such as Babel or Typescript, and build tools like Webpack

  • Experience with version control software like Git (including GitHub)

Knowledge or experience in the following would be a bonus:

  • GraphQL

  • Experience with testing tools such as Jest + Enzyme

  • MySQL or other NoSQL DB structures

  • Knowledge of server-side languages such as Node.js, PHP or Python

  • Native / React Native mobile development for iOS and Android

  • Experience with Google Cloud products and services

The role

Genero’s brand positioning is built on creativity and storytelling and we are looking to strengthen this positioning through exceptional design across all of our touchpoints, including our website, platform, advertising and communications.

We’re looking for a highly creative digital designer who will bring their own ideas and creative flair to our business to help shape and apply our design language to new and existing products and marketing collateral. You will work closely with our Product team, Marketing team, and Sales teams in our Melbourne HQ and across our global offices in Asia, Europe and the US.

The successful candidate

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

  • A degree or course related to digital design, UI design, communication design, graphic design.

  • A passion for and experience in the advertising and marketing industries will be looked upon favourably.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, be self-motivated and show initiative - we are a very entrepreneurial company and are looking for someone who can contribute positively to that culture.

  • Graphic illustration skills looked upon favourably but not required.
