Junior Front-end Developer

As a Junior Front-end Developer at Genero, you’ll be working with a modern web tech stack with React powering the UI, backed by a GraphQL API server running on Node.js. As part of our development team you’ll be working closely with our design and product team to develop innovative and world-class tools for brands looking for a more creative and agile approach to video content production.

While this is specifically a front-end role, we are a small agile team so you’ll be able to get hands-on experience and grow your skills in many aspects of software development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Converting designs and product specs into code

  • Constantly challenging your skills and improving your craft as a developer

  • Ability to work in a team or individually when required

  • Ability to communicate with strong verbal and written skills

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience with React and component-based user interfaces

  • Strong JavaScript skills, with a focus on writing clean, performant, and reusable code

  • Strong HTML and CSS skills, with the ability to deliver mobile, responsive, and accessible designs

  • Experience with the modern front-end toolset, e.g. package managers such as NPM/Yarn, transpilers such as Babel or Typescript, and build tools like Webpack

  • Experience with version control software like Git (including GitHub)

Knowledge or experience in the following would be a bonus:

  • GraphQL

  • Experience with testing tools such as Jest + Enzyme

  • MySQL or other NoSQL DB structures

  • Knowledge of server-side languages such as Node.js, PHP or Python

  • Native / React Native mobile development for iOS and Android

  • Experience with Google Cloud products and services

You should be a proactive, results driven developer with an eye for detail. We are looking for people with initiative that take ownership of their work.
