We caught up with Hélène Authevelle and Christophe Thiebaut (France), whose video was selected for our project to make a video for ‘One Little River’ by Clare Bowditch, to ask them about having their video chosen as the winner, and how they made their film.
How did you find out about Genero?
We heard about Genero thanks to an appearance on Google+.
When you were announced as the winner of One little River, how did it feel? What does it mean to you and how do you think it will impact your career?
We are delighted and pleased to have touched [viewers] with our clip. It means a lot for us; this is the reward for all our efforts and our hard work in making this video. We do not yet know how this will affect our careers but it makes us believe in ourselves more.
What sort of work have you done in the music video space before?
We made a short film but also some other music clips on personal projects.
How long have you been working in short film/music videos? Did you study film?
We all recently began collaborating in February 2013. We decided to combine our different talents to do more, and created emotivprod. We have not done any research in the field of video. We all have a passion for photography so learning video by ourselves was, like, a no-brainer for us.
Tell us a little about the production process of making your video.
Hélène Authevelle wrote the script for our video. She wrote with passion and emotion based on the feeling of the song and life itself. We found our performers through social networks. We believe everyone is capable of playing a role, and we wanted to work with these perfomers on this project. Christophe Thiebaut is responsible for shooting and framing and then we worked together on post production and collaborated on set. We use a Camera DSLR Canon EOS 5D and 7D with rail travelling (Dolly), Steadicam and crane…
Are you working on any other projects at the moment?
Yes we are working on a video for the eHarmony project on Genero.tv and other corporate video and music videos in France and Ibiza in Spain. You can visit our website at www.emotivprod.com to learn more about our team and other works.
Christophe & Hélène, congratulations and thanks so much for taking the time to talk to us. We can’t wait to see more of your work soon!
