About Genero

Genero is solving one of the biggest challenges in the marketing and advertising industry by providing an agile and creative content production solution. Our platform connects clients with a global network of professional creators – think production companies, animators, directors, motion designers, photographers etc – to produce all types of creative content.

We work with large brands, agencies, media companies and record labels, who upload briefs to the platform, commission creative ideas from our community and manage video/content production through our end-to-end software platform. We’re partners with all the big platforms like Google, TikTok and Meta, and work with great brands including L’Oreal, Sony, HP, Diageo, Fitbit, Levi’s, Hilton and Universal.

Genero HQ is in Melbourne, with growing teams in Sydney, London, Singapore, San Francisco, New York and São Paulo. We’re an innovative global company trying to shape the future of the advertising industry, and you’ll be joining a lean team with a fun, inclusive and supportive culture and an entrepreneurial mindset.

The role

We’re looking for someone enthusiastic, tech-savvy and experienced in video production to join our global team, based in Melbourne, as a Community Manager.

You’ll be reporting to our Senior Community Manager, and working closely with our Marketing, Product and global Sales teams to help us grow and nurture our amazing creative community of production companies, directors, animators, photographers and other professional creatives.

You’ll help grow, engage and nurture our global creative community and getting stuck into projects like:

  • Providing ongoing support to our creative community, answering their questions on the Genero platform, process and creative briefs
  • Supporting our sales team and brand clients to launch and promote creative briefs, reviewing briefs to ensure they’re clear and of high quality to get the best response from our community
  • Assessing creative responses to briefs launched on the platform, by reviewing creative ideas, treatments, and examples of work, and making recommendations to clients by shortlisting the best responses
  • Helping to grow our global creative network through outreach and social media marketing targeting production companies, directors and other creators
  • Flexing your creative muscles to help us write and produce content (behind the scenes, production tips, interviews etc.) to engage creators on our blog and social media platforms
  • Play a key role in working with our product team to continually improve our platform tools, processes and workflow, with a particular focus on the user experience for our creative community

What we're looking for

This role is perfect for someone with experience in the video production industry, and a keen interest in community engagement, social media and digital marketing.

Joining a small team in a highly collaborative position, you’ll need to be creative, confident and task-oriented with outstanding communication skills.

  • A media/communications degree or relevant tertiary qualification
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Hands-on experience creating or producing video content, either directly via your own creative projects, or within a production company or creative agency
  • A clear understanding of the production process, with the ability to assess the credentials of creatives in our network and engage with new creators
  • A very good understanding of social media marketing and advertising
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, be self-motivated and show plenty of initiative
  • Strong interest in film, advertising, tech, digital marketing and social media
  • A positive can-do attitude, and excited to embrace new challenges
