Nespresso Talents
Nespresso Talents is a global celebration of creative filmmaking first launched in 2016, challenging creators around the world to bring new angles to an old format with stories told through vertical short films. Underpinned by Film Festivals sponsored by Nespresso globally, it celebrates and nurtures the next generation film talent, bringing their art to the discerning film lovers everywhere.
This year filmmakers were invited to create and submit a vertical film using this year’s theme for the opportunity to be flown to Cannes Film Festival and receive awards from a pool of €50,000.
2021 theme
Doing is Everything
There has never been a time when being a force for good has been so needed by the world. As a filmmaker, you know from the films that you make that the smallest action can create an extraordinary positive change for an individual, a family, a community or even the whole world. We believe that "Doing is everything", and we asked creators to share with us thier vision of what this means.
Films could be in any genre – animation, documentary, drama or comedy. What’s most important is that it comes from the heart. Creators were asked to show us how they want to inspire people to follow this movement and help them commit to creating a positive impact.
The brief
This year, Nespresso invited creators around the world to submit vertical 9:16 videos between 2-3 minutes long, around the theme ‘Doing is Everything’.
Films should be positive, forward thinking, innovative & heart-warming. All genres are welcome (e.g. comedy, drama, educational…) in the form of fiction, documentary, or animation.
The contests
International judging
All videos received globally have been submitted to an international jury and are eligible for international awards.
National judging
Videos received from the following countries have also been submitted to a local jury and are eligible for additional national awards: (Mexico, France, Spain, Czech Republic, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Mainland China and Belgium)
Film school judging
All videos received from the students of the film schools listed here will be eligible for a special award.
Nespresso Club Members judging
Participants who submitted their private Nespresso Club Members number while registering their film are eligible for a special award.
