A brand video showcasing the magic of first encounters.

Client: Japan AirlinesCreator: Sherpa Projects

The brief

Japan Airlines and Ogilvy Singapore were looking to produce a brand video for their campaign ‘Fly once, fly always’, to reach a Southeast Asian audience across digital channels.

Their objective was to showcase the premium experiences available to passengers on JAL, by communicating those magical first time feelings in a dreamlike setting.

The team came to Genero to source a Production Company who could shoot the spot in Thailand where a mock cabin-set had been sourced.

The approach

Japan Airlines and Ogilvy commissioned Genero creators Sherpa Projects, an Australian based digital media studio who produced the film in collaboration with production partners in Bangkok.

Sherpa approached the ‘First Encounters’ brief with a focus on emotion and our ‘five senses’. By targeting the prism of sight, sound, smell, taste and touch, they created a brand video that humanises Japan Airlines’ offering in a captivating way.

The result

The campaign proved successful, with Ogilvy landing a Gold MARKies Award for Most Creative (Digital).
