The role

  • This is a contract role for 9 months whilst our Financial Controller is on maternity leave.
  • Based in Melbourne (working from home), this is a key and hands-on role within the business, ensuring our finance function runs at an efficient, timely and sophisticated level.
  • You will manage and be supported by a Junior Accountant, and also work with our external accounting firms in the UK, Singapore, US and Brazil.
  • Lead the end-to-end management of all financial matters and functions including AR, AP, reporting, payroll, annual audits and grants.
  • Management of income and payroll tax obligations, including BAS, IAS, and all ATO statements.
  • Global treasury management, monitor multi-currency balances and manage internal fund transfers.
  • Routine (weekly, monthly and ad-hoc) consolidated management accounts, revenue tracking, cashflow, data analysis, budgeting and modelling.
  • Year-end preparation and consolidation of all subsidiaries for the annual audit.
  • You will also be responsible for ensuring the company adheres to high standards of corporate governance, as well as our statutory/tax requirements in the regions we operate in, for example UK Nest pensions, US Delaware filings, Australian FBT / Workers Compensation.

Experience

  • CA/CPA qualified with 10+ years of relevant operational, technical and commercial experience.
  • You will be tertiary qualified in accounting, finance or commerce.
  • Proficiency using our core software applications, Xero and Google Apps.
  • Experience within high-growth early-stage businesses will be highly regarded.
