A set of light-hearted social videos showcasing new ways to pay.
The brief
To promote the launch of their new QR code payment feature, Mastercard required a suite of humorous social assets. The videos were to be targeted towards both issuers (banks) and consumers in the APAC market, with a strong focus on Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
The content was to be distributed across digital and social media channels, internal communications channels and at events and needed to feel highly-relevant for consumers in those key markets.
The approach
Multi-award winning director Charlie Dennis was commissioned for this brief through Genero. With a genuine understanding of South East Asian advertising formats and culture, Charlie created a humorous and memorable set of interlinking short clips that highlight the ease of use and functionality of the Masterpass QR, all while keeping the content relevant and local.
