A stop motion approach for a family focused TVC.
The brief
trivago wanted to remake a fun and engaging TVC, which shows a couple being transported through different hotel environments as they test various hotel filters on the brand’s website.
This recreated version would have a new emphasis on family, featuring a mother, father and two children searching for hotels in a mountainous landscape. The objective was to promote the versatile use of hotel filters on the site.
The approach
Originally planned to be a live action shoot, the commissioned team were UK animation production company A+C Studios who provided an alternative creative approach using stop motion animation.
A+C Studios’ use of stop motion animation was a unique take on the original TVC, making for a memorable and charming way to showcase family holidays and the trivago website.
The team were also asked to provide a behind-the-scenes video, and A+C Studios delivered an insightful video that shines light on the extensive processes behind stop motion animation.
