The Doors celebrate 50 years since their album ‘L.A Woman’ with a psychedelic music video for ‘Riders On The Storm’.
The brief
2021 marked 50 years since The Doors’ legendary album ‘L.A. Woman’ was released. To commemorate the anniversary, Rhino Records came to Genero to source creative ideas and an official music video for one the band’s most celebrated songs, ‘Riders On The Storm’.
The approach
Out of the 80+ creative treatments received from all corners of the globe, the label selected internationally recognised, Brazilian-born, Paris-based director duo Brendo+Gonfiantini. The pair are recent winners of the highest award in the music video category in Cannes Lions – the Grand Prix in Entertainment for Music 2021, as well as other awards including Young Lions, CLIO, D&AD and Berlin Commercial.
The work
Working closely with the Genero creative team, the modern approach to this classic vibe was exactly what the label and the artist’s management were looking for. Incorporating state of the art XR technology coupled with in-camera VFX and 3D animation, this video is a psychedelic trip through time and space that pays homage to the era, the band and the music.
